Amy Rogers Talley

From the time I learned to read to the present, I have always had a fascination with books.  I still remember reading Little Golden Books at naptime.  And, oh, the first time I read a romance - The Thornbirds - I was hooked.  I ate up the SuperRomances on the shelves of my aunt's used bookstore, borrowed my grandmother's Boons and Mills Medical Romances (I always loved those nurses' caps) and snuck my dad's westerns so I could read the "romantic parts" (which lasted about a page).  I inhale books, no doubt about it.  Of course, it never occured to me to write one until my college roommate said, "You read so many of those things, why don't you write one?"  That idea stuck and several years ago I did it - just like she said I would. So now I am an author, unpublished presently, but with the help of NOLA, I know it can't be long until I see my name on the cover.  Until then, I LOVE being part of this exciting group.  I serve as Librarian and Vice President while doing my best to juggle family, teaching and everything else under the sun - including being conference co-chair for 2009.  I love strawberries, fishing, retail therapy (especially at Target), and I'm a Virgo.  I am married to my highschool sweetheart and have two smart, beautiful boys.  When I am not writing contemporary romances and editing my historicals, I am usually found working in my flowerbeds or doing laundry.
