In 1998 Patti Rowell, now writing as Patricia Frances Rowell, retired after a long career in business and decided to write seriously for publication.  With the help of the NOLA STARs she was able to accomplish this goal in 2001 when she sold her first book, A Perilous Attraction, to Harlequin Historicals.  This book won the unpublished division of the Daphne Du Maurier Award in 2001 and after publication was a finalist for the RITA in 2003.

Since then she has published four more books with Harlequin Historicals, A Dangerous Seduction, A Scandalous Situation, A Treacherous Proposition, and An Impetuous Abduction.  The first two of these subsequent novels place 2nd in the Daphne Du Maurier Award in 2004 and 2005 respectively.

She lives in the forest in north Louisiana with her hero, Johnny, and three half-wild dogs who loudly defend the homestead from safely out in the woods.
