      Mary Jo Fitz-Gerald, MD is currently Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Vice-Chair for Psychiatry Education at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, La. Clinically, she is Director of the Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service. Mary Jo is active in numerous professional societies and is the recipient of local, regional, and national teaching awards. She is active in the American Psychiatric Association and is a national media representative. Dr. Fitz-Gerald has appeared in Good Housekeeping Magazine, Vitality Magazine, Lifetime Television’s Strong Medicine, MSNBC, CNS News, and Wall Street Journal.
       Dr. Fitz-Gerald served as investigator or sub-investigator on over 30 psychopharmacology drug trials. Mary Jo is the author of book chapters, scientific articles, and is the Editor of the La. Psychiatric Medical Association Newsletter.
       Mary Jo is a member of Romance Writers of America and the NOLA Stars and Coeur de la Louisiane chapters of RWA.
       She is currently working on a medical fiction thriller.
